Résumé
Ambient assisted living has thrived during the past decades due to the constant miniaturization of electronic and the declining price of the required technology. The researchers' motivation is two-folds: reduce cost of caregiving services while promoting autonomy of the targeted population. There are still several challenges and opportunity regarding the technological assistance of semi-autonomous persons. One of them is their inherent difficulty to travel in public space (airport, mall, government building, etc.). In this paper, we propose the first prototype of a navigation system adapted to address these challenges. The navigation system is scalable, cheap and will be completely open source upon release.
