Résumé
Petroleum coke used for the production of anodes is usually calcined in rotary kilns. The calcination process involves a number of different parameters which render the optimization of the calciner operation through plant trials very complicated and costly. A mathematical model was developed to simulate the operation of the coke calcining kilns. The model was used to optimize the operation of the kiln in terms of improved calcined coke quality.
