Résumé
Magnetite (Fe3O4) is a common and widespread accessory mineral and could be used as an indicator mineral. Unfortunately, there is no certified matrix-match calibration material for the analysis of magnetite by LA-ICP-MS. In this paper, a description of the calibration of the Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) instrument using multiple standard reference materials is presented and compared with the Electron Microprobe (EPMA) and Instrumental Neutron Activation Analysis (INAA) techniques, which will be discussed succinctly.
